These projects were selected from over 100 single-family houses, countless additions and renovations located throughout the state of North Carolina and as far afield as Placencia, Belize. My work has been widely published and recognized for design quality by State and Regional AIA awards programs.
Hayes Cucchiara residence . from the ground up

The house takes its design cues from the 30-acre, Chatham County farm site and the client’s interest in organic gardening and traditional agrarian buildings. Its forms recall archetypical tobacco barns and their lightly structured shed porches. Symmetrical barns with tall ceilings and simple window patterns contain a trained chef’s kitchen, living room, study and master bedroom. Alternating sheds contain an entry foyer, dining room and stairs to lower level guest bedrooms, in virtually transparent spaces that form pocket gardens. Most recently, a carbon neutral caretaker‘s apartment was built in existing space over the garage.
